Immediate implants and "teeth in a day"

"Immediate" can mean two things: placing the implant in the same appointment the tooth is removed (immediate placement), and attaching a tooth within days (immediate loading). Both depend on conditions checked during surgery.1

Consensus / guideline

The ITI consensus on placement and loading protocols treats immediate loading as a clinical decision based on factors such as primary stability, bone and the restoration, not as a property of an implant brand. 1

Be cautious of any offer that guarantees teeth in a day before you have been examined.
