The EFP S3 clinical guideline on peri-implant diseases centres prevention on oral hygiene, regular supportive care and managing risk factors such as smoking. 1
In prospective TiUnite® studies that reported it, 5.2% of patients had peri-implantitis over about four years.2 Definitions vary between studies, so numbers are hard to compare.
