What if an implant fails?

Most implants last many years, but some fail: early (the implant does not fuse with the bone) or late (bone loss, often from inflammation or overload).

Independent clinical study

In a university cohort of 207 NobelActive® implants, overall survival was 91.5%; survival was lower in patients with both local and systemic risk factors (76.5%) than in patients without risk factors (94.8%). 1

Small retrospective study; shows that patient factors matter more than the implant name.
